Starcraft 2 Terran Units Guide
One of the more versatile races in Starcraft 2 is the Terran. The Terran has a very multi-faceted Ground and Air Force, making them a strong challenger to Protoss or Zerg players.
Land Forces
Marines - While these guys have very low hit points (40), however these fighters can be extremely strong when in a large group and are able to hit both targets in the air and on the ground. Marines are even stronger with a stimpack upgrade and provide excellent defensive power when use in bunkers against any attacks.
Firebats - If you want to fight off any zerglings or zealots, consider using firebats. Though not as strong as marines, but they are very effective when use together with the marines. Firebats are good at countering zealots but will need marines to back them up if you don't want to lose them quickly.
Vultures - The Vulture is an extermely strong and good anti-infantry unit, especially both with its normal attack and mines. While it doesn't do much damage against bigger units, however with the use of mines, it can keep your enemy very busy.
Siege Tanks - The siege tank is one of the most powerful Terran units. In siege mode, and with enough support to keep the enemy away from them, they can wreak havoc and deal massive splash damages to approaching enemy land units.
Golaiths - Powerful and high in hit points, goliaths are great for use in attacks against enemy ground units as well as fighting off air assaults. Whether in attack or defense, it is always a good idea to place a few golaiths with your marines or tanks. Just be careful not to send in your goliaths alone into battle.
Ghosts - The ghost is another powerful unit for Terran, as it can cloak and call in nukes. They do more damage than marines against both land and air units although this is balanced out by the fact they fire more slowly.
Air Units
Wraiths - These units are an excellent fighter craft. While the hit points of a wraith is relatively low, the ability to cloak and launch a strong air-to-air attack against enemies makes up for it. Unfortunately, wraiths are known to have a much weaker attack for air-to-ground combat.
Battle Cruisers - They are perhaps one of the more destructive air units in the game. Already quite strong with its normal attack, however with the Yomato cannon upgrade, they can become even more devastating to enemy units. If you combine these cruisers together in a large feet they are virtually unstoppable. The biggest drawback to cruisers is that they are very slow moving.
Science Vessels - Unfortunately these units are often overlooked by most players. You can take a lot of damage with these units with the defense matrix upgrade, but adding the irradiate upgrade enables these units to create a powerful attack against the enemy when in large groups. In fact, you can wipe out the Protoss shields using the EMP, causing them to be at a disadvantage, an excellent strategy to use against Protoss forces such as archons.
Dropships - The dropships can provide you with many tactical advantages especially with accessing hard to reach areas and dropping your forces behind enemy defense lines.
