There are numerous organizations in our surroundings; they could be any social or academic institutions, firms, agencies, businesses or corporations etc. All of those could be at local level or multinational being ubiquitous. They need to sell their products, increase any investments or to raise their profits by any of their means or even if they are any non-profit organizations, try to achieve their aims by unique appealing methods like advertising as a tool to reach their goals.

But what if, they have flaws in their items they are selling? Or they have drawbacks in any of their policies? Or any of their management intrigues are leading them towards bankruptcy?

To solve those sorts of horrible issues, they use tonic' called Public relations, often known as PR. Not only it is used to cure their burns' but also for strengthening their relations with public and various other sectors even if it has to be government.

PR itself is not so historical'. An earlier definition of public relations, by The first World Assembly of Public Relations Associations held in Mexico City in August 1978, was "the art and social science of analyzing trends, predicting their consequences, counseling organizational leaders, and implementing planned programs of action, which will serve both the organization and the public interest."

Any risk taken can lead any organization to a major crisis that could lead them to downsizing, then bankruptcy and then finally the closure. That's why PR doesn't carry any burden of just holding crisis; it also covers risk management as well as event management to maintain a prospect of making a distinctive and well-equipped image of their client or organization.


In business terms, the Public relations provides an organization or individual exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that provide a third-party endorsement and do not direct payment. Common activities include speaking at conferences, working with the media, crisis communications and social media engagement, and employee communication.

PR also maintains a public image of high-profile people like celebrities and politicians etc. In order to deal their relations with the public. There are a number of public relations disciplines falling under the banner of PR such as analyst relations, media relations, investor relations, internal communications and labor relations.

The PR worker must also be able to cope very well under pressure. He or she must have the ability to cope with a barrage of questions from the media and the public. If a company comes under critical attack, it is the PR department who must take control of the situation. They must effectively answer the criticism and turn it around in order to protect the company's reputation.

For any organization to enhance their reputation; they need to have good PR. Otherwise; it becomes harder for them to achieve their specific goals.
