1) Know the company:

You should possess some knowledge about the companys vision, mission, its core business and current affairs as it will be completely disastrous that you have no idea about the company in which you want to work. Furthermore it will also help you in giving good answers. Therefore while preparing yourself for the interview check that companys website or other sources to get some valuable information about it.

2) Know about the job post:

Find more about the post you have been applying for and relate your skills and experiences with that job description. It is a very useful tip as if you know what the post responsibilities are, you might get an idea about what the interviewer is looking for and so you can answer his questions in such a manner that you highlight your those skills which are actually needed for this job and so convince him that you are the right candidate to be hired.

3) Know the place and venue and be on time:

Be at the interview place on time as arriving late might make you confused and nervous that not only makes you look disoriented but also might lead you in giving the wrong answers.

When you are seated, make sure that your posture is straight. Listen to what the interviewer says attentively, asking him to repeat the question does not lay a good impression. First allow him to finish his question then only start answering, dont interrupt in between and answer confidently. Avoid discussing ugly details, be neutral and answer positively like if they laid you off, you can say that the company had to down size and unfortunately they eliminated my position but I bet that they are regretting that decision now.
