Available to most students is the $10,000 scholarship drawing at freecollegescholarships.net. You need to live within the United States and be at least 18 years old or older in order to be eligible to register for the drawing. To take part in the scholarship drawing, you have to complete a a one-page registration form. Remember to register soon as the drawing occurs each month.

You may also want to take a look at another scholarship opportunity from the Sam Walton Community Scholarship. Students who qualify for this scholarship can win a $3000 scholarship. In your application, you need to be able to demonstrate financial need to the scholarship committee and you also have to maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average.

Another scholarship opportunity is provided by the Alliance for Young Writers and Artists. Apply by submitting work in journalism, dramatic script, and humor. Non-fiction and poetry are also types of works that you can submit.
