Nba Tickets - Top 5 Fantasy Power Forwards

Here are the top five power forwards for the 2010-11 fantasy basketball season as we head into training camp:

1. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks: Where else are you going to find a power forward with his kind of across-the-board production? Dirk is one of the elite scorers in the league and plays with a quality supporting cast that still allows him to be the first option in the Dallas offense. For some reason, Dirk doesn't sell NBA tickets at the rate one would expect, but perhaps it's because the bulk of his work is done below the rim. He racks up double-doubles with regularity and will give owners three-point production from an unlikely position. He shoots very good percentages and is about as reliable as they come from year to year. He's a top five pick.

2. Pau Gasol, Los Angeles Lakers: One of my favorite fantasy players, Gasol is a production machine. The only category that Gasol doesn't help in is three-pointers, which owners can definitely stomach. He doesn't score 25 a game, but I do expect him to shoulder a little more of the scoring load if Kobe Bryant starts to wear down at all this season. He's a rebounding machine and produces above average totals in the assists department nightly. He also gets a lot of blocks, but the best thing about Gasol could be his lack of turnovers. He's a first round pick.

3. Chris Bosh, Miami Heat: Bosh's per game averages are sure to decrease for the most part this season, or else he'd be in contention for the top spot on this list. In Miami, Bosh is likely to be the third option on offense, which will cut down his usage rate in a big way. However, he should still get a lot of rebounds and could see his assists actually increase if the offense runs smoothly. The biggest spike we'll from probably see from Bosh will be in his field goal percentage, as he'll probably get a ton of open looks playing with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

4. Al Jefferson, Utah Jazz: I'm tempted to rank him ahead of Bosh, but we still haven't seen that he's 100 percent after his knee surgery and it could take him a little while to assimilate into the Utah offense. When at his best, though, Jefferson is among the best post players in the game. He thrives in the half-court set, which makes Jerry Sloan's system seem like a good fit, and has a great point guard to get him the ball in Deron Williams. Jefferson doesn't produce great defensive numbers, but he could be a 20-10 guy if he regains his 2008-09 form and should shoot a strong percentage from the field.

5. Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks: He'll be stuck playing the five a lot this season, but he could potentially be a force if he gets to play the four more often than anticipated. Word is that he's been working hard on his offensive game this offseason and we could see him make a major leap in 2010-11. He's a bit of a risk-reward player, but could be worth it; he'll be a defensive force either way.
