The Importance Of Cardiovascular Exercise

Everyone needs to do cardiovascular exercise in order to have healthy hearts and lungs

. Cardiovascular exercise helps build your stamina and endurance, thus helping reduce your blood pressure and cholesterol. Everyone should do this at least 5 times per week.

Spending 30 minutes a day walking, running or doing aerobics is all you need to prolong your life and improve the quality of it! The moment you start an aerobic activity, the large muscles in your body kick into action and the rest of your body responds accordingly. Your heart gradually starts beating faster to ensure an increase in blood flow to the muscles and your lungs. Your breathing will be quicker and deeper which results in more oxygen traveling to your muscles and the removal of lactic acid and carbon dioxide.

The best thing about doing cardiovascular exercise is that it helps promote a stonger heart. A weak heart has to pump fast to ensure the entire body receives enough blood to function properly. By doing regular cardiovascular exercise you are training your heart and making it strong. A healthy and strong heart will pump blood throughout your body much more efficiently, making sure all your organs get enough oxygen!

Cardiovascular exercise is the best form of exercise to combine with a healthy, balanced eating plan if your goal is to lose weight. If you are overweight or obese it's very important to consult your physician before starting a strenuous exercise routine. You might feel up to jumping in at the deep end, but your body might not be able to cope with the stress of such drastic changes - let your physician guide you. Once you know exactly what your body will be able to cope with, take that information to a personal trainer at your local gym and let them work out a program specifically suited to your body and goals. Not only will cardiovascular exercise help strengthen your heart and lungs, but it will also help you burn fat!

You should aim to make cardiovascular exercise a part of your life permanently. A trainer at the gym will be able to help you get onto the right track and show you all the different types of exercise that you can do - walking, running, skipping, skiing, cycling - the list goes on and on! It maybe difficult for you at first to incorporate cardiovascular training into your daily life, but it will be well worth it.
