The Starcraft 2 Protoss Guide - Plan Your Opening Moves
If you have been looking into some Starcraft 2 Protoss guide, you will notice that their Protoss strategy is focused at certain angles of the game. Taking a look at this SC2 Protoss guide that is aimed for the Protoss race, the part of the game that is highlighted here is the starting point. It is important that you get as much of a head start early in the game. That said, let us examine some opening moves and other information that will help you move forward in the game more quickly than other players.
For newbies to Starcraft 2, you will soon learn that to be able to be at an advantage point in the game, you need to focus building your base and what Protoss tactics you need to employ to be able to put up a strong base. This base is known as your Protoss build orders. Having put up a strong base will mark a good opening move from your end.
There are three Protoss tips that you can try.
The first one is called the Dark Tremplar rush which is an opening move that will work strongly against Terran and other Protoss. Before you attempt to go for this rush, keep an eye on multiple cannons. Although the dark Templar works well against Terrans and fellow Protoss, it's not as successful when used agains Zerg.
The second Protoss tip which is considered as one of the strongest opening moves you can perform is by blasting your opponent's base with 3-4 Zealots. If this Protoss tactic called the Zealot rush seems to work, proceed immediately to tearing down the enemy. If you are not keen with this strategy, reposition your Zealots to perform mining operations and have a shot at crippling the enemy.
The third and final Protoss tip opening move in this Protoss guide is known as the early cannon rush. You will need some luck and speed to launch this type of Protoss tactic. Refer to the Starcraft 2 map and you will find that in some maps, there is a small entry point at the back of the mineral fields in specific starting areas. This can then be used as your support to this opening move. This strategy of attempting an early cannon rush is possible only if a Pylon has not yet been built. Otherwise, cannons may have already been sent off to this area obstructing success to a premeditated early cannon rush.
Playing with the Protoss in a Starcraft 2 game is a brilliant technique to start the race in the game. However, you need to be extra careful and should always be on the lookout for weak points of this race to reach your goal. Protoss tips and strategies presented in many Protoss guides are bound for changes. Keep track of these changes and master the guide for you to keep a lead on your game.
