Scientific Grants: Scientific Research Grants Program.

American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) is an international non-profit organization

that focuses on improving facilities and services in the field of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies. The Association was found in the 1947 and aims at improving health standards and educational programs that were focused on the transfusion medicine. However, since 2005, it is known only by the acronym AABB to outline its diverse membership. Today, there are more than 2,000 institutions and thousands members who are scientists in different areas. More than 80 countries are participants of this program. The main idea of the AABB is to improve health and provide new programs in transfusion medicine and cellular therapy. The core values of the association are the focus on the patient and donors, integrity, transparency and innovation. According to these values, the association fulfils its mission.

To pursuit its goals, the AABB provides and supports the educational programs:

1.AABB provides through the country national conferences and regional workshops on scientific, regulatory, technical and operational topics.

2.It has distance learning programs where participants can learn the latest information. These educational programs enabled thousands of professionals to improve their skills and learn about the up-to-date procedures in the field of transfusion medicine and cellular therapy.

3.Accreditation and Certification programs.

4.Since 1985, the National Blood Foundation awards with grants scientific researches in transfusion medicine.

5.The program supports with grants young researchers and funds in researches in the sphere of cellular therapies and some others.

6.It focuses its attention on the innovational projects that can have a practical impact on patience and donors.

7.It also provides grants to studies that benefit donors in the areas of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies. It also supports young female researches.
